How and when to stop meeting with a disciple

Jesus tested his disciples and He had disciples who stopped following Him.
This means that if anyone can get through our discipleship process, then something is wrong.
Journey carefully helps each disciple and everything is done with caring words and instructions. But not everyone is ready to move forward spiritually at this point in time, and you will find that out easily in meeting one on one.
Even though you have disciples who "drop out", you will see many sign up again as God works in their life.
An example in the Bible is John Mark, who quit but later he was used to write one of the Gospels.
Our goal in discipleship with Journey is to invest our time in those who want to move forward. Why? Because our goal is the multiplication of dedicated disciple makers.
You can know a disciple is not ready to move forward in these 2 areas: if they will not meet faithfully and if they cannot be faithful to the Daily in the Word. Also, each lesson requires some obedience. You do not move on to the next lesson if the disciple is not being obedient to the Word of God.
How do we stop meeting with them? Usually they are disconnecting themselves. But everything is to be done with loving words so there is an open door for them to come back. Tell them that a break needs to be taken and perhaps you can meet together from time to time to pray.
You are a good discipler or are leading a properly balanced discipleship ministry if you have disciples dropping out.
